P6 Aviation’s Essex County Airport location provides pilots with hands-on experience in one of the most dynamic airspace environments in the country. Located in Fairfield, NJ, this Class D airport offers an ideal blend of accessibility and real-world complexity. This airport is perfect for new Private Pilot students, Instrument Rating applicants, and experienced aviators transitioning into Cirrus aircraft.
How to Visit
Parking is available directly in front of the Essex County Airport Terminal Building. Look for our signage on the the top of the building and enter through the awning marked “Simulator Training” and proceed to the second floor to find P6 Aviation’s offices. An elevator is available for easy access.

Your First Week At KCDW
During your first week of flight training, you’ll complete onboarding and safety briefings, get introduced to your assigned instructor, and begin both your ground and simulator sessions. You’ll also start flight familiarization with the Cirrus SR20 or SR22, including basic maneuvers and local airspace orientation.
