Whether you're curious about what it's like to fly a brand new Cirrus Aircraft or you just want to fly once before you commit to becoming a Private Pilot -- Step 1 is a Discovery Flight.
We offer discovery flights from the Northern NJ, and NYC metro area. Prospective pilots can join us for a 2-hour experience with an expert instructor in a Cirrus SR20 G7+.
Your Discovery Flight At P6 Includes
1. Preflight Briefing: A classroom overview to review basic aerodynamics and answer every question you have, before you get into the airplane.
2. Preflight Inspection: A thorough walkaround of the airplane to explain all of the moving parts and ensure it's in perfect shape prior to takeoff.
3. Flight Experience: A 1-hour flight where you'll practice taxiing (steering the airplane on the ground), flying the airplane (basic turns, climb/descent) and using the Garmin Perspective Touch+ avionics to navigate, manage checklists and learn basic autopilot functions.
Cost is $575+tax and the flight time is entered into your logbook, making it eligible towards your Private Pilot certificate. Discovery Flights are available at either our Essex County (KCDW) (just 15 miles outside of NYC) or our Morristown Municipal (KMMU) location.

The Cirrus SR20 G7+ uses Garmin Perspective Touch+ with touchscreen controls, high-resolution displays, moving-map navigation, electronic checklists and integrated autopilot functions that give you the information you need to navigate, follow checklists, understand what the airplane is doing and manage the flight.

The aircraft includes CAPS, a whole-aircraft parachute system, and Safe Return Emergency Autoland, which can take control of the airplane, find a suitable airport, communicate with Air Traffic Control and land automatically in an emergency.

You'll fly with a Cirrus-authorized instructor.
P6 instructors are Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilots (CSIPs) and Training Center Instructors (TCIs). You’ll be getting instruction from pilots specifically trained to teach in Cirrus aircraft. Our instructors are not only experts in flight training but experts in the aircraft you will be flying in.
Your first flight can lead directly into training.
If you decide to keep going, you can continue your Private Pilot training at P6 in the same Cirrus environment, building on the aircraft, technology, instructors and training approach you were introduced to on your Discovery Flight.
